Kriemhilde Finally Finished

Kriemhilde is finished, pattern is found in Kunststricken: Decken, Garnituren, Spitzen Band 408/760. Had to block it out on my bed, its so large no room to do it anywhere else, not ideal. I would love to do this again, but in a much finer thread. The silk noil I used though washed up very well, softend up and has a subtle sheen, not quite like silk but pretty on its own.

The second picture is laid out on the floor, although its bunched up at one end. The first is displayed on my table, where it won't stay unfortunately, don't trust the dogs not to kill it their first chance, after watching me work on it all this time.

Honey Baby II

Moving along on this, had to use a smaller needle with this yarn so the end blanket may be somewhat smaller, not a lot though. Love the color, nowhere near as soft as the Woolen Rabbit merino I used on the first one, but I think it will be pretty. I got this yarn off of eBay quite a few years ago, ordered several cones of this wool in different colors, but there are no markings on the cone and the receipt seems to be gone so no idea on the manufacturer. All I'm sure of is it is wool. And I'm happy to make even just a tiny dent in all the stashed yarn I have.

Seem to be having trouble with links suddenly, am going to try to link to the designer's website.

And just in case I manage to get it right, will link to the Woolen Rabbit site, her yarns are just wonderful. If the links don't come through aaaarrrrggghhh.

I just don't understand why I can't get hyperlinks to work, so here are the links to copy and paste if interested.

Honey Baby

Finished a baby blanket named Honey Baby, pattern designed by Anne Hanson. I used Essence, a wonderful merino yarn from The Woolen Rabbit in What's Up Buttercup. The blanket is just beautiful, first great-grandkid gets it, hopefully that won't be soon.

Making it again in a blue wool I already had for a friend's grandson.

Got involved in a KAL on Ravelry, mystery shawl, Evenstar, designed by Susan Pandorf, she's beginning a new series based on The Lord of the Rings. I love her designs, am looking forward to participating.

Completed in Caron's Grandma's Best cotton thread, size 10. Pattern is Marianne Kinzel, Second Book of Modern Lace Knitting. Think I'll try a smaller project next.

Daffodil

Giving quitting smoking another try, trying to cut back to half a pack a day and then make the final step, down to just under a pack right now. Keeping hands busy, finished Daffodil designed by Marianne Kinzel. I have so much cotton crochet thread on hand, will keep me busy for a long time to come. Blocking in this picture.

Rain, rain, rain

Lots of it lately, and wind and cooler temps.

Finished the Duchrow. Haven't washed or blocked it yet, its really big, and will be even bigger after stretching.

Moving Along

Only 22 more rows to go on the latest project, its so big one row takes at least an hour, so awhile to go yet. Becoming just as much a fan of Duchrow as Niebling, the oldtime lace desingers are incomparable, and they charted their patterns without the benefit of a computer, pretty amazing.
Still not sure where in the heck I'm going to block this, maybe on the bed and block the dogs from the bedroom?

Fall!!!

Not quite technically yet, but the weather is beautiful, sunny and around 80. Spending as much time outdoors as we can before it gets cold and sloppy.

Nothing new on Mellow, he still has the sore, vet wants to give it a few more weeks to clear up before taking biopsies, but so far it hasn't changed at all. Doesn't seem to bother him. Bothers me.

Started another pattern from Knitted Lace Designs of Herbert Niebling by Eva Leszner, this pattern is a Christine Duchrow according to the editor of the book who is a member of Ravelry and has been really helpful with corrections and other questions about the book.

Am a lot further along then this picture, its going to be large, not sure where I'm going to find the room to block it.
